The Yasawa Islands are a favourite destination for small budget beach resorts alongside the local Fijian village. There's stunning coastal scenery, traditional fishing villages, turquoise waters and secluded beaches. This is more of a chill out destination with the feeling of being off the beaten track. Accommodation is usually in small thatch bungalows (bures).

The Yasawa Islands are all quite similar with the exception of Tavewa which is a private island so one is not restricted by observing traditional Fijian protocol when out exploring. Generally speaking, the further north you go the quieter the resorts. The beaches throughout the group are some of the best in Fiji and the small islands are great for exploring. Be sure to climb one of the many grassy hills for excellent views across the island chain. Snorkelling throughout the Yasawa's is excellent right off the beaches. All resorts are quite isolated and without public infrastructure and some of the smaller resorts will not have too many provisions. The Yasawa group is a great place to go to kick back, meet people and do some exploring.

Yasawa Islands Accommodation
A great way to explore the group is on a 3- or 7-night luxury cruise. Blue Lagoon Cruises offer small ship cruises for 3- 4- and 7-night itineraries visiting traditional villages, remote beaches and anchoring in exquisite sheltered lagoons. This is the only region in Fiji where overnight cruises operate. Yacht charters through the group are also available through several sailing charter companies.
